Mr. George Giakouvakis is Audit Committee member and Key Researcher of Transparency International Hellas, Business Integrity Forum Expert Committee Member, Founder and Director of Hellenic Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and served as member of the Board and Committees of Hellenic Institute of Internal Auditors and Hellenic Information Systems Audit & Control Association.
Mr. Giakouvakis published “Transparency in Corporate Reporting” and original articles on Corporate Fraud and Ethics. He has been corporate spokesperson on Governance and Quality Assurance, conducting independent fraud investigations and assessing security compliance and anti bribery efforts. He has also been providing training programs on Operational Risk and Management for Value concept. He was an Audit, Risk and Digital Analytics postgraduate course Instructor at National and Kapodistrian University and Corporate Governance and Compliance guest Lecturer at Panteion University.
Mr. Giakouvakis is working currently as Senior Business Risk Control Manager for HSBC, while previously also held executive international positions in global banks, as EFG Eurobank and Millennium BCP as well as Hellenic Post focusing on regulatory compliance and driving process improvements to provide greater management control. George has extensive global banking experience on developing policies and quality standards and optimizing performance.
He started his career as Enterprise Risk Management Consultant with Temenos where he experienced business processes analysis, internal control systems implementation and regulatory framework establishment. He was also providing Information Security (ISO 27000) and Quality (ISO 9000) Systems consulting and certifications services with TUV Nord Hellas.
Mr. Giakouvakis holds a master degree in Risk Management, Operations and Regulations from University of Reading (ICMA) and has a significant number of international professional qualifications on Audit and Risk.
