Head of Sector of Political Reporting and Policy Analysis, Representation of the European Commission in Greece
Monika Ekström is Head of Sector for Political Reporting and Policy Analysis in the European Commission Representation in Greece.
Ms. Ekström studied law the University of Stockholm, Sweden, with a specialty in European law. She worked as an Assistant Judge at the Huddinge District Court in Stockholm 1993-1996.
She joined the European Commission in 1996. From 1996 until 2002, she worked as a Case Handler at the Directorate General for Competition.
From 2002 to 2008, she worked as a Policy Officer at the Directorate General for Justice, Liberty and Security, dealing with Judicial Cooperation in Civil Matters and Citizenship and Fundamental Rights. She works in the Commission Representation in Greece since May 2011.
